  • Account Information: Email address, display name, and authentication credentials
  • Learning Progress: Words learned, lesson completion, favorites, streaks, and accuracy data
  • Voice Data: Audio recordings when you use voice conversation features (processed temporarily and not stored permanently)
  • User-Generated Content: Custom vocabulary topics, feedback, and custom roleplay scenarios
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version for technical support

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve our vocabulary learning services
  • Track your learning progress and personalize your experience
  • Generate AI-powered vocabulary lessons and conversations
  • Authenticate your account and maintain security
  • Respond to your feedback and support requests

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our features:

  • Supabase: Backend services, authentication, and data storage
  • Chutes AI (Kokoro): Text-to-speech for word pronunciation
  • Qwen/Qwen2.5-72B-Instruct: AI-powered vocabulary generation and conversation (default provider)
  • Google Gemini: AI-powered vocabulary generation and conversation (optional fallback provider)
  • RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management

These services may collect and process data according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their privacy policies:

Data Retention

We retain your account and learning progress data for as long as your account is active. Voice recordings are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently. If you delete your account, your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Opt out of optional features like voice conversation
  • Withdraw consent for data collection at any time

Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through the app by going to Profile → Account Settings → Delete My Account. This will permanently remove all your data from our systems.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • End-to-end encryption for data transmission
  • Secure authentication via Apple Sign In
  • Row-level security policies in our database
  • Regular security audits and updates

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Fina is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. By using Fina, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

No Tracking or Advertising

We do not:

  • Use third-party analytics or tracking services
  • Display advertisements in the app
  • Sell or share your personal data with advertisers
  • Track your activity across other apps or websites
  • Build user profiles for marketing purposes

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Sending an in-app notification for material changes

Your continued use of Fina after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Note: Fina does not sell personal information.
